Transcend Information predicts first quarter 2007 sales to increase 70-80% yearly to NT$7.5-8 billion (US$227.6-242.8 million) on strong sales in overseas channels which acccount for 50% of the overall sales, according to company sources.
The fast falling memory chip prices have not impacted Transcend much because end product prices are not falling as fast and turnover at channels are quick, Transcend chairman Peter Shu said.
Transcend's revenues grew 18% sequentially in January 2007 on strong own-brand shipments. Its revenues for February may drop 20-25% sequentially because of the long Chinese New Year holiday, the company sources said.
The shares of DRAM modules and NAND flash products in Transcend's February shipments are 40% and 60% respectively, the sources disclosed..
