Hynix Semiconductor announced what it claims the industry's fastest 185MHz 512-megabit mobile DDR SDRAM with error correction code (ECC).
The built-in ECC is used to ensure data integrity, and reduce current consumption by almost 50 percent, the company said.
At 185MHz clock speed, throughput of up to 1.5Gbytes of data per second can be attained with a 32-bit I/O. The ECC feature allows for the extension of the refresh interval which is meant to reduces power consumption.
