Mosaid has announced a major shuffling in its managerial lineup with the departure of its three top executives.
The Ottawa, Canada-based semiconductor IP licensing company today announced the appointment of John C. Lindgren as the company's new president and CEO, effective immediately. Lindgren succeeds George Cwynar, who has served as Mosaid's president and CEO since 1994. Lindgren joined Mosaid in November as senior VP of patent licensing, general counsel and corporate secretary after a 20-year career with Texas Instruments.
Also today, Mosaid announced the appointment of Carl Schlachte, president and CEO of ARC International, as chairman of Mosaid's board of directors, effective immediately. Schlachte succeeds Thomas I. Csathy, who has served on Mosaid's board for 16 years. Csathy was appointed vice chairman of the board in 1992 and has served as chairman since 2002.
Richard D. Boadway, CFO since 1997 and executive VP since 2003, will also be leaving Mosaid, following the orderly transfer of his responsibilities.
Cwynar, Csathy and Boadway will also continue to serve as directors on Mosaid's board during a transition period, the company said.
Mosaid gave no specific reasons for the executive departures and replacements. It should be noted, however, that the shakeup comes less than two months after Mosaid cut its workforce nearly in half with a deal to sell certain assets of its system division's automatic test equipment (ATE) business to Teradyne Inc. for $20 million in cash. In doing so, Mosaid cut 57 jobs from its then 116-person workforce.
Even bigger changes may soon be on the way for Mosaid. The company also announced today that it and its investment bankers are continuing the strategic review of its semiconductor IP product business, which designs and licenses semiconductor IP circuit blocks. The alternatives under consideration include a potential sale of this business, Mosaid said. has announced a major shuffling in its managerial lineup with the departure of its three top executives.
