NEC Corp. and its NEC LCD Technologies unit have developed a system-on-glass display that integrates on a substrate a 230-Kbit DRAM frame memory along with display transistors and peripheral circuits.
NEC engineers said they plan to integrate all display circuits on a glass substrate. They are presenting details of the technology development at the SID 2007 conference in Long Beach, Calif.
The prototype 1.1-inch display measures 160 by 120 pixels.
