A group of investors have poured $200 million in a new chip-packaging venture in Hanoi, Vietnam, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
The venture, Vietnam-Chipscale Advanced Packaging Services or V-Caps, will be led by a group of semiconductor investors, according to the report.
The plant will be in the new Hoa Lac High Tech Park. It will employ up to 1,500 workers.
Intel Corp. has also announced plans to build a chip-packaging plant in Vietnam.
