DRAM prices resume down trend

Wednesday, August 15, 2007
In the DRAM spot market today, the market momentum still did not improve. Moreover, prices declined sharply amid sluggish trading. For the mainstream 512Mb(64M*8)667/533MHz, prices dropped to USD2.12/2.07. As for the UTT(ETT)DDR2 64M*8/667MHz, many buyers continued to bid for even lower prices, which resulted in the memory chip to slip to USD1.82.

In the NAND Flash market today, sluggish demand was seen. As most suppliers continued to adjust their prices downward, the overall price quotes evidently dropped. With buyers still holding a wait and see attitude towards the future trend, the transaction volume remained weak. For Samsung, the prices of  1Gb / 2Gb / 4Gb(SLC) / 4Gb(MLC) / 8Gb(SLC) / 8Gb(MLC) / 16Gb(SLC) / 16Gb(MLC) were around USD5.25~5.45 / 8~8.35 / 17~17.8 / 7.3 ~ 7.45 / 25.8~27/ 8.65~8.8 / 31.3~31.7 / 17.15~17.7. As for Hynix, the prices of 1Gb / 2Gb / 4Gb(SLC) / 4Gb(MLC) / 8Gb(SLC) / 8Gb(MLC) / 16Gb(SLC) / 16Gb(MLC) were around USD4.9~5.15 / 7.9~8.2 / 17.3~17.6/ 7.1~7.35 / 17.8~19 / 8.4~9.5 / 30.5~31.3 / 17.35~17.7.
