Intel's German headquarters in Feldkirchen near Munich has been raided by EU antitrust officials. The raid is probably connected to the ongoing EU antitrust probe.
Intel acknowledged the fact that its offices have been searched through. A spokesperson pointed out that the company fully cooperates with the authorities but declined to provide further details. She said no other Intel offices in Germany shave been subject to the search.
The raid could be connected to the allegations AMD has raised against Intel in the past years. The EC antitrust authorities have launched an examination past July. The Intel spokesperson however declined to elaborate if the raid was connected to these charges.
According to media reports here, also other chip vendors as well as several PC resellers have been raided. From the EC antitrust office nobody was available for comment.
