Phoenix, Arizona-based Adtron, a designer and manufacturer of solid state flash disk drives, has been acquired. SMART Modular Technologies, which is based in Fremont, California, said Wednesday that it is paying $20M in cash plus up to an additional $15M if revenue targets are met for 2008 for Adtron. SMART Modular is a supplier of Flash, DRAM, and other memory, embedded computing, and TFT liquid crystal displays to the OEM market. According to SMART Modular, the deal has been approved by the boards of both companies, and is expected to close Friday.
