MSI to showcase green design notebook at Cebit Show

Friday, February 29, 2008

Micro-Star International (MSI) will showcase its new low-cost desktop PCs, green-concept and gaming notebooks as well as its next-generation motherboards based on Intel's 4-series chipsets, at CeBIT 2008, 4-9 March.

MSI's main theme for this year's CeBIT is "ECOlution", short for eco-friendly and environmental evolution. MSI strives to excel in the IT industry while developing products that will promote and empower the movement for environmental protection, the company boasted.

MSI low-cost desktop PCs, built using Intel 45nm chips, consume less than 60W of power, the company claimed, noting the desktops will support DDR2 memory up to 2GB, DirectX 9, and Windows Vista.

MSI will present six new motherboards based on Intel 45nm 4-series chipsets including the X48, and P45 and G45 in ATX and Micro-ATX form factors.

MSI high-end motherboards will feature its "GreenPower Design", meaning they will include 4-6 phase PWM, dual-channel PWM, and high-quality Hi-c capacitors, the company said.

MSI's "Green Design" notebooks will add a feature which releases high concentration anions which the company claims helps "clean and purify the air". Meanwhile its gaming notebooks will feature the company's new "Turbo Battery Technology" which can extend system battery life up to 20% compared with traditional notebooks, MSI noted.
