Qimonda plans to start producing Buried Wordline DRAM technology in the second half of 2008.
Qimonda recently announced that it would introduce Buried Wordline DRAM technology to 1Gb DDR2 production on the 65nm node in the second half of 2008. In the meantime, the Germany-based chipmaker will have also begun production of 58nm trench and 65nm stack DRAM.
While seeing satisfactory yields on existing 70nm trench DRAM production, Winbond is expected to start pilot runs of stack DRAM production for Qimonda in the second half of 2008, the sources noted.
For Inotera Memories, the company is likely to introduce stack DRAM production a quarter after Qimonda, the sources estimated.
