Infineon lowers Q3 outlook for its communications branch.
According to a press release, the company now expects communications revenues to be flat or slightly negative in the third quarter. Earlier, the company had published sales to climb in the mid- to-high single digit percentage range. The company also expects that the revised outlook in combination with customization expenses associated with the ramp of new platforms should lead to a decline in EBIT. However, the EBIT still is expected to be up from Q2.
The lower expectations result from lower orders than anticipated in an unnamed HSDPA project, sources in the company said. In addition, the ramp-up of the single-chip project with Nokia was delayed.
