Qualcomm Inc. raised its revenue and earnings forecasts for the fiscal third quarter and full year, helped by demand for next-generation mobile phones.

Qualcomm said it expects pro forma revenue slightly above the high end of its previous forecast of $2.5 billion to $2.7 billion for the third quarter. It said quarterly pro forma earnings per share would likely reach 54 cents to 55 cents, compared with an earlier view of 50 cents to 52 cents.

For the full year, Qualcomm increased its pro forma earnings forecast to a range of $2.09 per share to $2.13 per share, above a previous estimate of $2.04 to $2.09.
