VIA Technologies announced its revenues for June were NT$568 million (US$18.69 million), a drops of 7.3% on month and 58% on year.
Due to the cease of third-party chipset shipments, which originally accounted for 60% of VIA's revenues, the company's accumulated revenues in the first half of this year were only NT$4.53 billion, a drop of 46% compared to the same period last year.
VIA pointed out that a drop in third party chipset shipments has made a great impact in the company's performance in the first half this year. However, the company is continuing to see increased orders for its C7-M processor in July and its new Nano processor will start shipping in August or September. Related orders for the new processor have already been received from at least three first-tier PC vendors, so the company expects to see a better performance in the second half of this year.
