Microsoft will establish its third R&D center in Taiwan following the Microsoft Technology Center set up in June 2003 and Microsoft Innovation Center in June 2008, according to corporate senior vice president and Microsoft China's R&D leader Ya-qin Zhang at a forum in Taipei on July 28.
The new R & D center is intended to integrate Microsoft's cutting-edge software technology with Taiwan's globally advantageous hardware manufacturing capabilities, Zhang pointed out. The HIC will focus on the development of innovative application technologies and products in areas such as digital home, media center tuner card integration, multimedia and intelligent devices, Zhang indicated.
