Rambus said that the U.S. International Trade Commision (ITC) has opened an investigation into possible infringement of the company's patents by graphics chip vendor Nvidia Corp.
Rambus said the patent infringe products include Nvidia products that incorporate DDR, DDR2, DDR3, LPDDR, GDDR, GDDR2, and GDDR3 memory controllers, including graphics processors and media and communications processors.
Rambus requested the investigation by the ITC last month. The company said its complaint seeks an exclusion order barring the importation, sale for importation, or sale after importation of products that allegedly infringe nine Rambus patents.
