The International Trade Commission (ITC) has, at the request of Rambus, instituted an investigation of claimed patent infringement by Nvidia and vendors incorporating the "accused" Nvidia products.
The dispute centers on graphics processors, media processors, and communication processors that incorporate DDR, DDR2, DDR3, LPDDR, GDDR, GDDR2, and GDDR3 memory controllers, according to Rambus. Companies besides Nvidia named in the claim include Asus, Asustek, Hewlett-Packard, MSI Computer, Micro-star International, and Pine Technology.
