Actel Corp is mourning the loss of Jon A Anderson, the FPGA maker's VP and CFO.
Anderson died unexpectedly on December 22 from medical complications following a recent hospitalization. He was 50 years old.
Anderson joined Actel in 1998 as corporate controller and became CFO in August 2001. Prior to Actel, he spent 11 years at National Semiconductor where he held various financial positions and five years at the public accounting firm of Touche Ross & Co.
"Jon's death comes as a great shock to the Actel family," John C East, the company's president and CEO, said in a statement. "Jon was a good guy with a wonderful family and an unfailing sense of humor who excelled at his job. He was our friend. We grieve Jon's passing and send our deepest condolences to his family."
Actel said its CFO duties will be assumed on an interim basis by Dirk Sodestrom, controller, who previously served as a CFO for five years.
