Advantest Corp the world's largest maker of semiconductor testers, said it would unveil an annual outlook and restructuring plans.
Orders for equipment used to make chips that power and control electronics and cars have fallen to near-historic lows as chip makers worldwide slash output, close factories or seek government aid.
Advantest posted its fourth straight quarterly loss last month as major clients such as Intel and Samsung Electronics freeze or postpone spending plans.
With orders down 51 percent in October-December from the previous quarter, Advantest said in January that it would have to implement more drastic cost cuts than the staff cuts it made after the collapse of the IT bubble in 2001.
