LinkVast Technologies, a subsidiary of Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) have launched two solid-state drive (SSD) controllers – LVT820 and LVT815.
The new memory controllers can be applied in notebooks, netbook PCs and embedded systems, and other specific system applications.
The LVT820 and LVT815 deliver a data transfer rate of up to 3Gb/s via a SATA interface and support both multi-level cell (MLC) and single-level cell (SLC) flash chips.
Both controllers include an external DRAM architecture which can improve read/write efficiency and increase random write performance up to 100-200 times, according to the company.
LVT820 and LVT815 are built on 0.11-micron process technology with lead-free ball-grid array packaging. The controllers are sampling now, with volume production planned for June 2009.
