Infineon has announced to drastically widen the reduced working hours scheme for its German locations.
At a recent Infineon's annual general meeting on February 12, CEO Peter Bauer had announced reduced working hours for large parts of the company. Now the company's worker's council and the management have agreed to establish a reduced hour working scheme for the next six months, beginning April 1.
While production at the company's larger manufacturing sites in Dresden, Regensburg and Warstein had already earlier been affected by reduced working schemes, the new agreement includes R&D as well as sales and marketing positions at the company's headquarter in Munich plus most other German locations, adding another 4000 mostly white-collar jobs to the scheme. In average, the positions affected will work 20 percent less over the coming six months
