ASUSTeK is planning to introduce a concept model of Fold/Unfold notebook in the second half year. The design is like a document folder with retail pricing between US$1,000 to US$1,500.
This concept Fold/Unfold notebook derived from the plan for WePC.com with Intel is featured with sliding keyboard maximizing room for the keys, trackpad and palm rest. Mr. Jerry Shen, ASUSTeK CEO, mentioned this concept model will be introduced commercially in the second half year. Other sources were indicated the launch time will be around September and October.
It is noted that ASUSTeK¡¯s Fold/Unfold notebook is positioned as image establishment to prove ASUSTeK¡¯s innovation. Internally, ASUSTeK expects the Fold/Unfold notebook to create the momentum similar to Macbook Air in the market.
With the winner list of Red Dot revealing, ASUSTeK has five products awarded in this global design award in Germany. It is shown ASUSTeK¡¯s industrial design ability has been acknowledged internationally. The winning products included Eee PC S101, Eee Keyboard PC, S121 notebook, P30 notebook and chocolate keyboard.
