Mosaid Technologies Inc filed suit against IBM Corp. in a U.S. federal court alleging infringement of six Mosaid patents.
Mosaid claims that IBM infringes Mosaid patents in the area of embedded DRAM in IBM's microprocessors and ASICs. Mosaid filed the suit in U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
In a statement, John Lindgren, Mosaid president and CEO, said the company filed the suit after trying for many years to reach a settlement with IBM. "We believe that IBM requires a license to our patents for its microprocessor and ASIC products that contain embedded DRAM," Lindgren said. "MOSAID has licensed virtually 100 percent of the global commodity DRAM industry, including signing patent license agreements covering embedded DRAM products. The value of our patents is internationally recognized
