Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) has announced revenues of NT$436 million (US$13.29 million) for July, up 11.58% on month, but down 28.18% on year, while combined revenues for the first seven months in 2009 have reached NT$2.01 billion, a drop of 46.65% on year.
Benefiting from entry-level PC chipset and Xbox 360 southbridge orders, the company said it expects revenues in the third quarter to grow 20% sequentially.
Currently, the PC chipset business accounts for around 60% of SiS revenues, while its Xbox 360 southbridge business accounts for around 30%.
Commenting on its reported chipset shortage, SiS pointed out that the company's wafer making partners have already agreed to share more capacity and the company expects the extra volume can ease up about 40% of the shortage.
