Intel Corp raised its sales forecast for revenue for the third quarter to $9.0 billion, plus or minus $200 million, citing stronger demand for its microprocessors and chipsets as the reason.
The previous guidance was for the Q3 revenue to be between $8.1 billion and $8.9 billion.
At the same time Intel said its gross margin percentage for the third quarter is expected to be in the upper half of the previous range of 53 percent, plus or minus two percentage points. Intel is scheduled to report its third-quarter financial results on Oct. 13.
