VIA Technologies has posted revenues of NT$365 million (US$11.09 million) for August, a drop of 11.38% on month and 49.94% on year. Combined revenues for the first eight months of 2009 reached NT$3.21 billion, a drop of 45.27% on year.
With more suppliers set to join VIA's GMB Alliance later in the month, while vendors such as Lenovo have placed orders, VIA said it expects revenues to start climbing from September.
VIA admitted that supply chain integration has caused several problems for the GMB Alliance which need to be solved, while lower-than-expected growth in China's white-box notebook and netbook markets also played a role in the revenue decline.
VIA plans to launch its next generation Nano 3000 series processors in October.
