Apple cut the retail prices of the iPod touch, the nano, and the Classic models.
The 32-gigabyte touch, which sold for $399, is now $279. The 16-gigabyte version goes to $249 from $299; the 8-gig model to $189 from $229.
The smaller nanos fall to $149 from $189 for the 16-gig player, while the least expensive iPod nano, running 8 gigabyte, goes to $129 from $149.
The venerable iPod classic, the only device from Apple that uses a hard drive instead of flash memory for storing songs, gets a modest cut to $229, a decrease of $20.
