Hynix Semiconductor has confirmed that it will increase its planned capital expenditure for 2010 to 2.3 trillion won (about $1.95 billion), according to recent a filing made by Hynix with the South Korea Stock Exchange.
The new capex plan represents an increase from October, when Hynix said it planned to spend about 1.5 trillion won (about $1.3 billion). It is estimated that Hynix's 2009 capex spending was about $1 billion.
