United Microelectronics Corp. (Hsinchu, Taiwan) has reported sales for March that are up 9.8 percent on sales in February 2010. This is slightly less than is usual as March tends to be a considerably stronger March with sequential rises of around 25 percent.
UMC reported net sales of NT$9.48 billion (about $300 million) for the month of March 2010, up 9.8 percent from the previous month and up 108.7 percent from a year before. For the period January to March UMC's sales were NT$26.72 billion (about $850 million), up 146.5 percent from the equivalent period in 2009.
