Silicon Integrated System (SiS) expects its revenues in the second quarter of 2010 to bounce back to the same level as in the fourth quarter of 2009 despite the company had a sequential revenue drop of 29.19% in the first quarter, according to the company.
The boost will be mainly due to the fact the company's PC chipset and TV chip clients have started restocking inventories as well as new orders for Xbox 360 chipsets in April.
SiS currently has 65% of its revenues contributed by PC chipsets, while TV chips have less than 10%, and southbridges for the Xbox 360 and touchscreen ICs together account for 25-30%.
As for the recent shortage of the company's entry-level M672 notebook chipsets, although SiS has placed rush orders with United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), the tight supply is unlikely to be completely solved before the end of May, sources from notebook players noted.
