Motorola, Inc.'s Networks business and Inform Invest Group (IIG) have signed a consortium agreement to jointly address upcoming 4G opportunities and bring Motorola’s 4G solutions to the Russian market.
Details of the agreement were not revealed at the announcement.
IIG, a leading Russian systems integrator for wireless technology solutions, is a holding company that consolidates more than 20 companies in the Russian telecommunication industry.
The range of equipment provided by IIG yncludes access systems, backbone routers, IP-equipment, OFMD-based "point-to-point" and "point-to-multi-point" access points as well as WiMAX (802.16d) and LTE systems.
“Russia represents a highly strategic growth opportunity for 4G, and Motorola is well-positioned to help operators migrate seamlessly towards the latest generation of mobile technology," said Ali Amer, vice president and general manager, Motorola Networks EMEA, in a statement.
"Our collaboration with Motorola marks a new phase in InformInvest’s business strategy in delivering innovative wireless technologies for the Russian market," said Igor Marchenko, vice president, Inform Invest Group.
Motorola had sales of $22 billion in 2009.
