Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC) has changed its corporate name to Powerchip Technology (abbreviated Powerchip), effective June 7, according to a company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).

PSC said the name change is to reflect its business diversification, without elaborating further.

PSC was previously hit hard by chronic DRAM oversupply problems. The company swung to net profits in the fourth quarter of 2009 after 10 quarters of losses, and has remained profitable since
