Samsung Electronics will start volume shipments of 9.7-inch panels for the Apple iPad in July with monthly shipments reaching 300,000-500,000 units, according to market sources.

LG Display shipped about 800,000-900,000 9.7-inch iPad panels in May, up from over 700,000 units in April, 470,000 units in March, and 300,000 units in February, the sources noted.

Monthly shipments of the iPad have reached 1.2 million units, up from the 700,000 units per month when the product first introduced to the market, and the monthly shipments may reach 2.5 million units by the end of 2010.
