Contract quotes for prices of DRAMs are likely to decline in July and August, according to DRAMexchange.
In late June contract prices for mainstream DDR3 DRAM modules remained in the range of $45 to $47 but some DRAM makers came under pressure due to growing stockpiles among PC OEMs amid weakening demand, DRAMexchange said.
It is thought that DRAMexchange, a division of TrendForce Corp. (Taipei, Taiwan), was referring to 2-Gbyte small-outline, DDR3 dual-in-line memory modules with a data transfer rate clock frequency of 1,066-MHz, although the company was not specific. Suppliers have lowered their contract quotes to the range $44 to $46 dollars from $46 to $48 dollars, DRAMexchange said.
