AMD has announced revenues for the second quarter of 2010 of US$1.65 billion.
The company reported non-GAAP net income of US$83 million, or US$0.11 per share, and non-GAAP operating income of US$138 million.
AMD's gross margin in the second quarter reached 45% with a cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities balance at the end of the quarter reaching US$1.9 billion, approximately flat from the first quarter.
During the quarter, AMD used US$200 million to repurchase a US$206 million principal amount of its 6% convertible senior notes due 2015.
AMD's computing solutions segment revenues increased 4% sequentially and 31% on year. The increases were primarily driven by record notebook microprocessor and chipset unit shipments.
Meanwhile, the company's graphics segment revenues increased 8% sequentially and 87% on year. The sequential increase was driven by record GPU unit shipments, partially offset by a decrease in ASP. The on-year increase was driven by an increase in GPU shipments and ASPs.
For the third quarter, AMD expects revenues to be up seasonally.
