Foxconn Electronics recently signed a contract with the Wuhan government to move its desktop production lines, which can produce 68 million units each year, as well as, printer and monitor production lines to its plant in Wuhan, China.
Foxconn started investing in Wuhan in 2008 with a production value of 3.6 billion yuan (US$531.37 billion). In the first half of 2010, the workforce at the site reached about 20,000 with production value reaching 7.16 billion yuan. After completing its capacity expansion in 2014, the company is expected to have 100,000 employees with a production value reach 50 billion yuan, the report added.
