United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) has announced revenues of NT$10.89 billion (US$341 million) for August 2010, up 20.13% on year. On a sequential basis, revenues were almost flat from the NT$10.82 billion generated in July.
UMC accumulated NT$78.17 billion in revenues from January to August, growing 52.26% from the same period of 2009.
UMC's revenues for the third quarter are expected to grow 9.57% sequentially to NT$32.6 billion, which will be in line with the company's guidance, according to a report from Taiwan's state-run Central News Agency (CNA). The paper did not name its source.
UMC expects its third-quarter revenues to increase 5-11% on quarter, CEO Shih-Wei Sun revealed at the company's most recent investors conference. Wafer shipments will grow 1-5% on quarter while ASPs will rise by 4-6%, Sun estimated.
