Adata Technology has reported revenues of NT$3.45 billion (US$112 million) for September 2010, up 1.7% on month but down 15.5% on year.
Consolidated sales for the third quarter slid 1.4% sequentially to NT$10.38 billion, implying a weak third quarter that failed to see a seasonal upturn.
Adata pointed out that disappointing back-to-school demand, and weaker-than-expected demand from the China market ahead of the country's National Day holidays, resulted in the company's on-year decline in September revenues.
Adata saw sales of its NAND flash memory products increase 33.7% sequentially to NT$1.475 billion in September, while the DRAM module segment dropped 13.6% on month to NT$1.975 billion.
Adata indicated shipments of its NAND flash devices for smartphones, such as memory cards, have grown since September. The momentum is expected to extend into the fourth quarter, the module house said. As to DRAM modules, Adata expects customers to start rebuilding their inventory later in October following the National Day holiday in China.
Adata accumulated NT$32.63 billion in revenues from January to September, up 50.3% from the same period of 2009.
