Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has posted consolidated revenues of NT$112.25 billion (US$3.64 billion) for the third quarter of 2010, which exceeded its guidance of NT$109-111 billion.
Fellow foundry house United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) collected NT$32.65 billion in revenues in the third quarter, managing a sequential 9.8% rise that is within its estimate of 5-11% growth.
TSMC registered consolidated revenues of NT$37.64 billion in September, up 0.7% on month and 30.1% on year. Consolidated revenues for the first nine months of 2010 totaled NT$309.4 billion, rising 51.9% from a year earlier.
TSMC is expected to discuss its financial performance for the third quarter and business outlook at an investors conference on October 28.
UMC posted revenues of NT$10.94 billion in September, almost flat from NT$10.89 billion in August. Accumulated revenues through September reached NT$89.11 billion, climbing 46.4% from the same period of 2009.
UMC's next quarterly investors conference will be held on October 27.
