Micron Technology has introduced its Axcell-series NOR flash memory for automotive applications with mass production slated to begin in 2011.
Built on a 65nm process, the new 512Mb automotive Axcell NOR device with a parallel interface is compliant with automotive industry standards and meets the data integrity requirements for all flash memory components used in automobiles, according to Micron.
Micron claimed that for the fourth year in a row, Gartner ranked it as the number one supplier in automotive DRAM. Now with the addition of NOR and automotive grade eMMC memory to its portfolio, Micron is in an even stronger position to provide customers with a complete portfolio of memory products that can scale from economy to luxury vehicles, the company said.
