Integrated Device Technology (IDT) have filed a lawsuit against Taiwan-based Phison Electronics with a US court for the infringement of its patented technology related to controller chips used in USB drives.
Phison, in a company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE), said it has not yet received an official statement of claim. The company supplies flash controller ICs as well as peripheral system applications.
In February, Phison settled with SanDisk over a NAND flash-related patent suit filed also in the US. The terms of reconciliation were not disclosed.
Phison chairman Khein Seng Pua was quoted as saying in previous reports that the company aims to ship 450 million NAND flash device controllers in 2010, almost doubling the 240 million shipped in 2009.
