Asustek to unveil 4 new Tablet PC at CES

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

Asustek Computer will introduced four new tablet PCs, Eee Pad Slider, Eee Pad Transformer, Eee Pad MeMO and Eee Slate, at its pre-show CES 2011 conference.

The Eee Pad Slider adopts a 10.1-inch IPS touch panel and a slide keyboard, and is equipped with Nvidia's Tegra 2 dual-core processor with GeForce GPU. The machine is also equipped with Google's Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) operating system with a weight of 886g. The machine also features two webcams, front and back, and is priced at US$499-799.

The Eee Pad Transformer also features a 10.1-inch IPS touch panel and can be connected to an external keyboard. The machine also adopts Android 3.0 and Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. The Eee Pad Transformer is priced at US$399-699.

The Eee Pad MeMO is a 7-inch tablet PC, targeting the market between smartphones and 10-inch tablet PC products, with a price of US$499-699. Asustek also introduced its Eee Slate EP121 that features Intel's Core i5 processor with a price of US$999-1,099.

Asustek chairman Jonney Shih commented about Apple and Acer's products and pointed out that although Apple's iPad is an example of innovations, the company failed to provide its customers more choice; meanwhile, although Acer has been launching many models, it failed to offer an equivalent amount of innovation. Therefore, Asustek, which integrates both innovation and choice together, will be the winner.
