Atmel Corp. has acquired the business operations from MHS Electronics, a France-based developer and manufacturer of electronic components.
MHS Electronics, a privately held electronic component and systems maker near Nantes, France, announced the opening of insolvency proceedings in 2008.
Atmel declined to comment on the reports.
