Fujitsu Semiconductor will incorporate the latest technology from ARM Holding plc—including ARM's Cortex-A15 processor into its SoC offerings under the terms of a comprehensive license agreement between the companies.
Fujitsu (Japan) and ARM (Cambridge, UK), have been collaborating for more than a decade.
Last November, Fujitsu launched sales of its FM3 family of general-purpose microcomputers equipped with the Cortex-M3 processor.
The companies said the agreement would enhance and deepen their partnership. The combination of compatible and scalable low-power processor IP, including the recently launched Cortex-A15 processor, graphics and fabric IP, will enable Fujitsu to provide its customers with complete, full function SoC platforms featuring ARM technology, while reducing time-to-market, the companies said.
