AMD on March 1 held a press conference in Beijing, China, to introduce its Fusion APU and unveil more than 30 new products with local executives from brands Hewlett-Packard (HP), Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Samsung Electronics, Sony and Fujitsu as well as Taiwan-based brands Acer, Asustek and Micro-Star International (MSI).
AMD also detailed its APU lineup during the conference. The company's Brazos platform will have two product lines, E series (Zacate) and C series (Ontario) APUs, featuring Bobcat architecture. The E series is designed for mainstream notebooks, all-in-one PCs and small form factor PCs with the dual-core E-350 and single-core E-240 APUs currently under the family. Meanwhile, the C-series is designed for devices such as netbooks with the dual-core C-50 and single-core C-30 under the family.
The company will also announce its 32nm A series APU (Llano) before the middle of 2011. The APU will be manufactured by Globalfoundries and will feature a quad-core architecture and a single DirectX 11-support GPU.
