Intel is cooperating with Taiwan-based all-in-one PC makers including Mitac International, Micro-Star International (MSI) and Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) to push standardization for all-in-one PCs and is planning to use Mini-ITX-format motherboards as a standard component of all-in-one PCs, according to sources from PC vendors.
The sources pointed out that because all-in-one PCs do not yet have a standardized platform, their design costs remain at a high level. and as Intel has already been working on setting up related specifications, they expect their costs for all-in-one PC development to drop significantly after the standard is out.
At CeBIT 2011, Mitac is showcasing its Maestro 650 all-in-one PC that adopts Mini-ITX motherboards based on Intel's standard, while MSI, ECS and Gigabyte Technology are also displaying Mini ITX motherboard-based all-in-one PCs at the show. Gigabyte is also set to launch the USB 3.0-based Mini-ITX motherboard GA-H55N-USB3 at the end of July
