Macronix revenues up 12% in February 2011

Monday, March 7, 2011

Macronix International's revenues grew by another 11.9% on month in February after having increased 23.7% sequentially in January, according to data released by the mask ROM and NOR flash chipmaker.

Macronix registered NT$2.4 billion (US$82 million) in February revenues, up from the prior month's NT$2.15 billion. Revenues for the first two months of 2011 totaled NT$4.55 billion, rising 5.3% from the same period a year ago.

Macronix has estimated revenues at NT$6.5-6.8 billion for the first quarter of 2011, up 18-23% on quarter.

Macronix' first-quarter 2011 revenues are likely to represent the highest first-quarter result reported in the company's history, buoyed by shipments of ROM chips to orders for the Nintendo 3DS portable games console, Taiwan-based website MoneyDJ has quoted unnamed market watchers as indicating. Macronix is a major ROM supplier for Nintendo.

Macronix shares closed at NT$21.30 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) on Monday March 7, up NT$0.10 from Friday's closing price.
