Taiwan-based smartphone vendor HTC on March 7 reported unaudited consolidated revenues of NT$32.106 billion (US$1.09 billion) for February, dropping by 8.31% on month but up 212.33% on year.
HTC's January-February consolidated revenues of NT$67.121 billion also rose by 212.91% on year.
The sequential decrease in February was mainly attributable to fewer working days as the Lunar New Year occurred in early February, according to local stock analysts. Based on the performance in the first two months, HTC is expected to attain consolidated revenues of at least NT$100.0 billion in the first quarter of 2011, 6.4% higher than HTC's goal of NT$94.0 billion, the sources pointed out.
Viewing that HTC will begin to launch new smartphone and tablet PC models unveiled in the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) during January 6-9 and the 2011 Mobile Word Congress in mid-February, the company is likely to hit new record quarterly consolidated revenues of NT$130.0 billion in the second quarter of 2011, the sources indicated
