Due to the massive 8.4 magnitude earthquake that struck off the northeast coast of Japan on Friday (March 11) afternoon, Sony has shut down two factories in Miyagi prefecture, and suspended operations at plants in Shiroishi, Koriyam and Fukushima prefectures, according to a Japanese-language report on MSN News Japan.
The report noted that Sony has evacuated all employees from the plants, and confirmed partial damage to facilities.
