Xilinx Inc. has announced it has started to supply 7 Series FPGAs made using 28-nm HPL manufacturing process technology from foundry TSMC. The first device is the Kintex-7 K325T.
The Kintex-7 FPGA family uses the same architecture that will be shared across the 7 series, 28-nm families so Xilinx said its customers can begin FPGA development now for designs that may ultimately migrate to Artix-7 and Virtex-7 FPGAs.
Kintex-7 K325T FPGA initial samples are shipping now, Xilinx said. The Virtex-7 485T FPGA and the 2 million logic cell 2000T will begin initial sampling in August and November of 2011, respectively. Artix-7 FPGA initial samples will ship first quarter of 2012.
