Korean Manufacturers Continue to Dominate DRAM Market
Samsung Electronics and Hynix Semiconductor together made up more than 60 percent of the global DRAM market for a third consecutive quarter.
According to DRAMeXchange, Samsung accounted for nearly 40 percent of the market, and Hynix Semiconductor 23 percent in the first quarter.
The global DRAM market in the first three months of this year totaled US$8.31 billion, down 3.7 percent from the previous quarter.
Meanwhile, the two Korean companies also controlled nearly half of the global NAND flash market in the first quarter.
